Globalization, Friend or Foe Wikapedia
defines Globalization as the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas, and other aspects of culture. Globalization became one of those buzz words thrown around in the late 70’s early 80’s mostly among the
business minded and not so much the average citizen. It was an appealing idea that most idealistic folks could embrace. It
was a simple idea at first, we the upscale countries could lend a hand to the less fortunate countries, pushing trade, investments
and modern technology to them creating a more industrialize people giving them a way out of poverty with better paying
job, health care and education. They would in turn build their own countries into a higher standard of living and this
would eventually come back to the upscale countries in the form of trade. They would buy our products, our cars, tV, washers
and dryers , microwaves and so on. The third world countries would move toward being industrialized countries alleviating
the poverty, and starvation that so badly plagued their people. This two way street would not only be between the haves and
the have nots but should develop between the super powers, the friends and the enemies . The obvious logic and the real crux
of this strategy being all the countries of the world would be trading partners, dependent on each other for goods and service
and therefore eliminate the potential of wars and aggression toward one another. Each country would become more modern , more
prosperous . These nation communities would continue to build the culture and sustain their way of life! Great
idea? Almost, except for one small but destructive little problem. Along with this process of integration
came greater mobility. Thousands of workers from these developing countries didn’t won’t to
stay in their country and be a part of this developing process, they could see the wealth the much better way of life that
already existed in the developed countries and wanted to migrate . This too wasn’t a bad idea on the surface and millions
started making the moves to their new homes, they became a part of their new adopted homes, learned the language, learned
the culture and had the pride of being a citizen. Unfortunately this didn’t apply to all the immigrants. If we fast
forward to today and analyze what is happening with the mass movement of Muslins from these war torn Middle Eastern countries
they are choosing a different course. Instead of integration they are segregating themselves in their own communities
centered on the religion of Islam. That wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact they do not except the values
and way of life of their adopted countries and not only that but as their numbers grow they want to change the values of their
adopted countries and bring in things like Sharia law, a hate for non-Muslins, a hate of homosexuals, a hate for Christians
and Jews a hate of most of the freedom we hold dear. Like pouring a small amount of gasoline in a gallon of water, the entire
gallon becomes toxic.
