SHOULD FOLLOWING SHARIAH LAW BE A FELONY?

A proposed Tennessee law would make following the Islamic code known as Shariah law a felony, punishable by 15 years in jail.

State Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, and state Rep. Judd Matheny, R-Tullahoma, introduced the same bill in the Senate and House last week. It calls Shariah law a danger to homeland security and gives the attorney general authority to investigate complaints and decide who's practicing it.

It exempts peaceful practice of Islam but labels any adherence to Shariah law — which includes religious practices such as feet washing and prayers — as treasonous. It claims Shariah adherents want to replace the Constitution with their religious law.

A dozen other states are considering anti-Shariah bills, and there's a federal lawsuit in Oklahoma over one.

CUTTING SOCIAL SECURITY & MEDICARE BENEFITS

The President just released the budget for next year with great fanfare about living within our means? How can this be living within our means when we're looking at a 1.6 Trillion Dollar deficeit? Anyone with first grade math skills is going to see right through that statement. The 500 pound gorilla in the room is the entitlement programs and defense budget. These have become un-touchable over the years, with no politician willing to even bring them up! "The Third Rail". And the Republicans are screaming that the Obama cuts are not enough, but they refuse to even discuss the entitlements and the real budget problems themselves. It is a game of cat and mouse they are playing, but they are playing with our future, our kids and grand kids future. I would suggest starting with just getting the fraud out of the system, arrest and put in jail doctors and care givers who cheap on the Medicare system, force the defense contractors into actually being accountable for their work!! Just starters!! Question: Should they pull back on the entitlements in order to save the system?
